My journey
It all began with a camera, a want, a need. Now it is an addiction.
Iceland is truly a place of beauty, there is so much to explore, enjoy and feed your vision. I have travelled to Iceland three times now and different through different seasons; from the winter months with a pure white out whilst driving route 1, to the summer months where you get to see a transition from dormant nature to full vibrancy.
24 days on Route 1, jumping from camp site to tourist spot. Driving through weather that changes with a blink of an eye. It easy to get lost in this journey and not want to leave, it’s a lifetime experience that is a must.
It is an expensive country but you can manage this by renting a mobile home, and there are plenty of companies that will help you, be careful though, there are many restrictions when it comes to rentals, for example you can’t go on most if not all F roads with these types of vehicles. I did try and it was an expensive replacement tire! Grab yourself a 4x4 for the day and explore that way, or if you are feeling flush grab a tour guide and go on an exhibition.
